Mo is originally from Guinea in Africa and has spent many years dancing and teaching African dance. Think tribal drum beats and energetic dance moves that will allow you to loosen up, let go, and really feel the spirit of the music.
In the first part of the class, Mo will do a mini Master Class using different steps from African Dance. During the second part, Mo will teach an African Dance Choreography.
Bachata is a Latin social partner dance from the Dominican Republic. It's unique rhythm is danced with a variety of step patterns and turns. It is one of the main rhythms along with Salsa and Merengue heard in Latin Dance Clubs in Milwaukee.
This workshop will teach you Bachata steps as well as partner dancing and turn patterns that you can use in your Zumba® class when the instructor plays a Bachata song, or take it out to the club with you to dance!
Born in Conakri, French Guinée, Africa, He started his career as a dancer at very early age, by participating in childhood competitive Mandigue tribal dance rituals. At the age of 6, Mo joined the Conakry based dance group SOVIA. He learned the traditional West African dances by traveling and performing throughout French Guinée for 9 years. At age 15 he founded his own dance troupe, Le Ballet Etoile de Guinee. In 1992, the group was Finalist Best National Dancers, a highly praised award in the Mandigue culture.
Mo has been full time dance instructor of traditional West African dance, Salsa, Bachata in Belgium and the Netherlands, from 1998 to present. In 2002, MO expanded his teaching to Cuban Salsa, Bachata and Latin Ballroom dance. Despite his drive to adopt a European lifestyle and his transition to Dutch citizenship, MO always stayed true to his African Mandigue identity and his passion for dancing. MO has a incredible gift to self-train in a variety of dancing style and master the new choreography with ease. He is fluent in three Africans languages, French, Dutch and English. MO is often a guest performer of small and large performances (up to 15,000 spectators) jupon requests from the World's greatest Djembe drummers and African singers touring in Europe. He also has an established working relationship in formal educational settings such as the University of Maastricht where he is a frequent contributor to the student Program for the past 4 years.
